B-BBEE Scorecard Support Programme
Diversifi has developed a programme to support organisations’ annual B-BBEE cycle, thereby ensuring that their desired B-BBEE status level is achieved.
The programme is designed to support the organisation throughout the annual B-BBEE cycle, ranging from planning, implementation, monitoring, to verification.
The programme consists of various components which can also be individually selected in order to address an organisation’s specific requirements.The programme does not replace the Verification Agency or Transformation Manager but supports both to ensure that the annual B-BBEE certificate does not bring any surprises.

B-BBEE Scorecard Calculation and Gap Analysis
Diversifi assists organisations to determine their B-BBEE scorecard points and B-BBEE status levels. We furthermore calculate scorecard targets and analyse scorecard gaps.
Diversifi has developed the knowledge, competence and experience to calculate Generic B-BBEE Code and all Sector Code scorecards. We are specialists in all B-BBEE related legislation.
The calculated B-BBEE scorecard forms the basis for a B-BBEE verification as well as a basis for scorecard planning.
B-BBEE Scorecard Plan Development
Diversifi assists organisations to achieve their desired B-BBEE status level by developing a tailored B-BBEE Scorecard Plan.
Using the organisation’s current B-BBEE scorecard as a base, Diversifi, together with the organisation, develop a B-BBEE scorecard plan that is designed to achieve and maintain their desired B-BBEE status level over a period of time.
Suitable scorecard element initiatives are identified and required contribution values are calculated. Although the focus is on scorecard achievement, factors such as return on scorecard investment and transformation impact are considered.

B-BBEE Scorecard Plan Implementation Support
Diversifi assists organisation with the implementation of B-BBEE initiatives in order for them to achieve their desired B-BBEE status level.
As a first step we prepare a project plan that allocates responsibility and plans the timing of all actions required during the annual B-BBEE cycle. Together with Solve SA, our B-BBEE Solutions Platform, we assist organisations to identify suitable initiatives and solution providers. We furthermore assist with the engagement of identified solution providers and help drive the implementation of the selected solutions. Required contribution values are monitored and we ensure that contributions are made timely.
B-BBEE Verification Support
Diversifi assists organisations to navigate the annual B-BBEE verification process.
An anticipated B-BBEE status level is only as good as the evidencing documents that supports it. Diversifi knows and understands the B-BBEE verification process, verification procedures and the required evidencing documentation. We help organisations during all stages of the verification, including selection and engagement, submission of measurement information, evidencing, technical interpretations, review of the provisional report and lodging of appeals, where necessary.

B-BBEE Ownership Scorecard Computation
Diversifi assists organisations with the computation of their B-BBEE ownership scorecards, both for the annual verification and for transaction evaluation and scenario planning.
Diversifi are experts in B-BBEE ownership legislation and B-BBEE ownership scorecard computations. We are competent and experienced in all aspects of B-BBEE ownership, including complex sale of asset transactions, continued recognition, options and hybrid debt/equity instruments. Due to the complex nature of the B-BBEE ownership legislation, the inherent risk of misstatement and the non-core business nature of the computations, we assist many clients with their annual B-BBEE ownership computation and verification.
B-BBEE Mandated Investments
Diversifi assists JSE listed organisations by determining Black ownership arising from Mandated Investments and providing an Independent Competent Person’s Report to support the inclusion of such Black ownership in their B-BBEE ownership scorecard.
Capital markets typically rely heavily on the use of financial intermediaries, and the ability to trade rapidly and largely anonymously. These attributes do not make for an easy fit with the need to measure black economic empowerment. A substantial proportion of the shares of many issuer companies are indirectly held via financial institutions.
To date, the B-BBEE framework in South Africa has largely failed to deal with these characteristics of modern capital markets. Typically, only sizeable and self-identifying B-BBEE shareholders have been measured. This has resulted in a systematic underestimation of black participation in public companies in South Africa.
We believe that the inclusion of Mandated Investments in the calculation of black ownership is factually more accurate and more reflective of the true broad-based beneficiation, through ownership.
Our process for achieving this and reporting the results is through an Independent Competent Persons Report’ (ICPR) methodology.
