This re-invention and change reflect our business’ own transformation from B-BBEE scorecard consultancy to a social impact advisory business. A business that moves organisations beyond compliance, focusing on transformation and inclusion.
Our name is different, but our values are the same.

How it all started
P art of this new chapter is also about clarifying our operations, where we started and where we want to go.
Our four founding members came together from across the financial services, B-BBEE consulting and transformation spaces, bringing together individual businesses to work alongside one another to offer clients comprehensive, impactful solutions within the B-BBEE space.
While the existing businesses focused on transformation and consultation, the founders also moved into the sustainability space, leading to the creation of Alternative Prosperity – which focused on raising money for NGOs.
In 2013, a single business was formed under Alternative Prosperity, bringing together the founding businesses to produce a B-BBEE advisory, as well as a sustainability advisory business.
As the business developed, it became clear that we needed to adapt to remain ahead of the curve and serve our clients effectively. As such, we began to expand our services and business structure.
In 2016, African Rainbow Capital invested in our business, leading to the establishment of Alternative Prosperity Holdings, which housed an investment business, Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products, as well as the Alternative Prosperity Foundation.

From Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products to Diversifi
Too often B-BBEE legislation is seen as exclusive. We firmly believe in its ability to realise inclusive transformation and build a prosperous society that leaves nobody behind.
Our founders’ vision was to work towards creating a prosperous society for all South Africans. We have always been – and will continue to be – of the belief that transformation is not about simply achieving compliance. To effect change and achieve sustainability, the journey should go further than the B-BBEE scorecard.
Rooted in this belief, Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products began to grow as a company and build a reputation as an industry leader and expert in B-BBEE transformation, specialising in solving complex issues for South African organisations.
As Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products grew further, we began deepening the work we do. So, while our genesis was rooted in being a B-BBEE consultancy, what we do today is far more wide-ranging. We have expanded greatly to offer our clients and partners social impact advisory services that go “beyond the scorecard”. We remain leaders in the B-BBEE advisory space, but we have journeyed into becoming a multi-faceted business, with diverse products and service offerings.
This brings us to Diversifi. Today we are a transformation advisory, offering clients strategies, and frameworks with which to tell their transformation story. Diversity, equity and inclusion also form core processes within the business.
Re-introducing and always re-inventing, with a new brand, new excitement and revived energy, Diversifi is now positioned as a separate division in the same group. Ready to continue the pioneering role we have played in the market for nearly two decades.

As a company, we have come a long way from our inception. Since being founded, we have not only grown and adapted our business, but we have built a competent team. We continue to hire committed people who truly believe in inclusive transformation. Not only do we believe this, but we also live it within our organisation. The same people who started working for Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products are now leading Diversifi into the future as invested shareholders, partnering with you to stretch thinking, push boundaries and come up with sustainable solutions. Solutions rooted in a holistic view of transformation – and not just the B-BBEE policy lens.
Leading Diversifi as CEO is Erosha Govender. Govender joined Alternative Prosperity on 1 September 2014 as a BEE consultant. With the expansion of Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products and as the business grew, more people were employed and the business units expanded, she became head of Alternative Prosperity Advisory and Products.

Our expertise has led to our involvement in legislative commentaries and in forming multi-stakeholder partnerships. We want to thank our clients for their ongoing support and for allowing us to walk with them on their transformation journey. Our clients have played just as much of a role in our transformation journey as we have in theirs. They have helped shape and form our strategies to ensure they are more robust and work towards improving our process.
It is our clients who have challenged us to be better and do better. Together we have become strategic partners, solving problems collaboratively. We are not afraid to challenge, be challenged and think outside the box. It’s for this reason that we have retained clients throughout our journey to where we are today.

It is with this success and our sense of re-invigoration that we look forward to the next chapter of our transformation, diversity, equity and inclusion journey.
