Erosha Govender

CEO, Transformation and DE&I Specialist

Erosha Govender leads the Diversifi team, is responsible for, ensuring effective execution of the business strategy through the client-facing team; development of bespoke Transformation, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategies for large listed clients with a sound knowledge of B-BBEE and related legislation.

She has held various positions within the BHP Billiton Group, including as Transformation Manager of the Manganese division where she was responsible for accelerating BBBEE and Transformation, external stakeholder engagement and internal and external communications.

Erosha has extensive experience in the mining, metals and manufacturing sectors, which includes process optimization, project management, community development and socio-economic transformation within the South African context.

Bongie Mthunzi

B-BBEE and Transformation Specialist

Bongi has more than 10 years of experience in B-BBEE, including areas such as training, verification and consulting. She is experienced in all areas of B-BBEE, in particular the ownership element. Her experience includes various Sector Codes such as the Agricultural Sector, Financial Services Sector, ICT Sector, Tourism Sector, Construction and the Integrated Transport Sector Codes.

Her clientele ranges from SMMEs to private companies, listed companies and State-Owned Enterprises.
Bongie completed her articles with KPMG and has been involved in the financial statement audit of several Public Entities, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. Between 1997 and 2003 Bongie worked for Standard Chartered Bank, rising through the ranks to be a Portfolio Manager.

Bongie holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (UNISA), Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, MDP – B-BBEE with Wits and MBA with Heriot Watt University through Edinburgh Business School.

Lizelle Laubscher

Lizelle has more than 10 years of experience in B-BBEE, including areas such as verification and consulting. She is experienced in all areas of B-BBEE. Her experience includes various Sector Codes such as the Agricultural Sector, Financial Services Sector, ICT Sector, Construction, and Integrated Transport Sector Codes. Her clientele ranges from SMMEs to Private Companies and Listed Companies.   Prior to moving into B-BBEE advisory, she worked in the auditing and tax industry at the South African Revenue Services.

Lizelle holds a Bachelor of Financial Management Sciences (University of Pretoria) and also obtained membership to the Golden Key Honor Society during her studies.

Eric Ackroyd

COO and Transformation Specialist

Eric is a Chartered Accountant, a registered Economic Empowerment Professional and has completed the B-BBEE Management Development Programme. He served as Technical Director of the Association of B-BBEE Professionals and started his B-BBEE and Transformation career in 2007.

Eric was the Verification Director at EmpowerLogic for 11 years before joining Diversifi. Before moving into the B-BBEE field, he worked as a financial auditor for 12 years, including 3 years in the UK and Germany.

Having worked in the audit, verification and financial world since 1994, Eric has an in-depth understanding of best practice B-BBEE, financial and ownership concepts. His client experience ranges from sole proprietors to small, medium, large and multinational businesses.

Brandon Ludick

B-BBEE & Transformation Specialist

Brandon joined Alternative Prosperity in July 2020 as a Financial Analyst, where his role entailed Financial analysis of portfolio companies’ performance and critical measurement criteria; Assistance with corporate and ownership strategies; Research on the development of capital structures and resources. In August 2021, Brandon joined our advisory team in the capacity of a B-BBEE Advisor. His duties include transformation research; assisting with ownership calculation; BEE scorecard analysis; general B-BBEE consulting and Independent Competent Person’s Reports. Research and analysis for transformation strategy projects and overall research of trends within the transformation space. B-BBEE advisory comprises scorecard assessment, gap analysis, strategy development, verification assistance, and impact assessment.

Nadine Meyer

B-BBEE and Transformation Specialist

Nadine completed her BCom. Degree in Economical Risk Management in 2008. In 2009 she worked as an Admin Technician at a short-term insurance company working as part of the claims team in the fast-paced environment of the financial insurance industry.

Her career at Coface Credit Insurance started in 2010 when she started as a Junior Business analyst where she was promoted to Commercial Analyst with an increased mandate of higher-value commercial entity investigations. Thereafter she was promoted to Jnr. Risk Analyst whereby she was responsible for ascertaining, analysing and interpreting financial reports of various commercial & non-commercial entities as well as assisting Risk Analysts with the preparation (research etc.) of large risk committee reports for the CLRC in Paris and Turkey. 18 months later Nadine was granted the opportunity to manage the Business Line Process section of the department.

In 2014 Nadine’s career as a Transformation Quality Manager started at Empowerdex where she had the opportunity to not only learn about the intricate workings behind B-BBEE but also to apply her skill set as a risk analyst to ensure a low-risk profile of each B-BBEE rating she reviewed.

Nadine obtained her MDP in B-BBEE through Unisa Business School in 2017 and became a SANAS-approved Technical Signatory. As a Quality Manager, she reviewed audit files and calculations prepared and submitted by analysts, in addition, she identified any risk areas during the analysis of the underlying information through the use of verification procedures, including the validation of supporting documentation for each entity audited.

Whilst working for Empowerdex Nadine has dealt with a broad spectrum of enterprises ranging from small-medium, large as well as listed enterprises. Nadine also assessed ratings on all industry sectors’ codes excluding the Defence Charter.

Nadine is a driven, goal-orientated person who works well under pressure. She enjoys taking on challenges and has the ability to assess a problem as well as execute a solution. Nadine’s greatest strength is that she is a hard-working person who likes to understand processes and procedures and add value to streamline processes where possible. Nadine is also a vigilant person who pays attention to detail and overcomes challenges through a questioning approach. Nadine is also able to consistently work to the highest professional standards.

She is eager to enhance and refine her personal development within the organisation, and take on any challenges that may lie ahead. Nadine dedicates her skills and all her effort to her position and add value to the Transformation journey within organisations.

Anton van Geest

B-BBEE Technical Expert

Anton specialises in B-BBEE strategy and serves a broad range of clients across various industries. He furthermore specializes in B-BBEE Ownership. Anton has been involved in the B-BBEE verification and consulting industry since 2006 in various roles. He joined Quants Management Consulting (now Diversifi) in 2012.

Before moving into B-BBEE advisory he worked in the auditing and tax industry in various accounting firms in South Africa and the United Kingdom and was later appointed as a partner in an audit and accounting practice until 2011.

Anton has a particular focus on the Financial Sector where he advises some of the largest players in the financial industry, including specialist areas such as Ownership, Empowerment Finance, Black Business Growth Funding and Access to Financial Services.

Grace Mngadi

B-BBEE & Transformation Specialist

LLB

Grace is a recent LLB graduate from Stellenbosch University. Her work ethic and dedication allowed for her membership to the Golden Key Honor Society. She has a passion for creating impact and has worked in countless spaces over the past 5 years to advocate for the realisation of equity and inclusion. Her initiative towards transformation resulted in her receiving the SU Rectors’ Award for Excellence in Leadership during her studies.

Furthermore, Grace is responsible for B-BBEE Scorecard assessments, strategy, and verification assistance. Assisting in B-BBEE technical support and legislation and DE&I.

Zola Gule-Straker

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist

Zola Gule-Straker joined Diversifi in December 2021. Her role is that of a content developer, facilitator and coach for DE&I. She is also responsible for identifying and growing our reach amongst different DE&I markets. Her aptitude for trend forecasting originates from her training as a systems coach, thinking environment and DEI coach. Among Zola’s strengths is her ability for depth in holding difficult topics with care while simultaneously holding clients accountable.

Zola has worked in various industries from the corporate sector to the education sector as well as International world humanitarian organisations. She has coached as one of the transnational Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity program, the entertainment industry and youth development. Zola is passionate about advocating for organisational, community and environmental change within the diversity, equity and inclusion space with 18 years as a coach and DEI specialist.

Barenice Lecheko

B-BBEE and Transformation Specialist

Barenice has been with Diversifi since 2012. Her accountabilities include assisting in the implementation of transformation and BEE strategies, advising on socio-economic development and consumer education projects and the beneficiary analysis, including Broad-Based Ownership Schemes. Barenice is experienced in research fieldwork, including surveys and interview administration through electronic, face-to-face and telephonic engagement.

She conducts due diligence on social projects and skills development service providers. In addition, she is responsible for the management, fundraising and compliance of the Alternative Prosperity Foundation’s programmes.

Before her work in BEE, she held various positions in Human Resources, in both local government and the private sector, where her area of focus was in Training and Development and Labour Relations, among others.

Lana Jackson

Lana, a Human Resources professional, is deeply committed to delivering strategic solutions that propel success and yield enduring value for her clientele.
Lana brings her expertise to the table with over 15 years of multinational and global organisations, and many JSE Listed Organisations. She has a diverse skill set and industry knowledge from her years of experience.
In her arsenal, Lana holds a degree in Human Resource Management, coupled with Assessor & Skills Development Facilitator, she is a licenced Insights Discovery Practitioner, and Clarity4D Business Partner, this contributes to the diversity of experiences she brings into the partnerships she works with.
