The business case for diverse organisations being more competitive in a complex society has been made. In South Africa, given our history of Apartheid, this is also a social and moral imperative. Recurring and persistent racial, age and gender tensions in South African organisations/society show that the integration of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I is something that organisations still struggle with . Part of the challenge is that embedding DE&I requires deep work with internal and external stakeholders. It requires changes of hearts and minds.
A challenge South African organisations face is to create work/client spaces where diversity is valued, and organisational practices and culture is fair, principled and inclusive. Where DE&I issues surface, mature organisations are those that can hold the tension and harness it for strengthening the organisation rather than tearing it apart.
Our DE&I process is made up of distinct phases or steps to ensure a structured and outcomes-driven process. It is underpinned by a strong support base to catch and manage any fallout from the process. We make use of a team of specialists in the fields of mediation, counselling and psychological safety. We also work with the organisation’s occupational wellness team if preferred.
Diversifi “OPEN” Thought Leadership and Experiential Workshops is a multi-stakeholder forum for unpacking complex issues and new opportunities. Diversifi We bring together leaders and change agents to work collectively and in innovative ways. The contributors, participants, location and arrangement of the day(s) are selected with care to encourage optimal connection to authenticity in an inspiring, honest and collaborative space.
We chose the term “OPEN” as it represents potential inclusiveness. It is however also a term that refers to an attitude. An attitude that values diversity, different points of view and multiple levels of intelligence. All of which are required to deal with complexity. In our process, we however aim to be pragmatic, doing-focused and not to over-complicate unnecessarily.
Diversifi “OPEN” is about creating and facilitating dedicated time for organisations, teams or individuals to explore and express what it means to be fully human. We help to remind and reconnect with purpose as individuals, teams, and organisations and ultimately as a system. An opportunity to stand still to move forward.
